When you hear about diamond these days, you might think of that song— ‘Diamonds’ by Rihanna. Very well then, shine bright like a diamond. I had first thought of incorporating diamonds in my work ever since reading a novel with a story connecting diamonds and the human soul. Interestingly enough, as I was painting these piece, that song came on the radio. “Intensity of fragments, like a diamond” 16” x 20” Oils on Panel Tomorrow is the opening to my first Los Angeles Solo show ‘Soliloquy’ Hope to see you there at Copro Gallery between 8-11:30pm!

paddyleung:

This evening I got to spend some quality time with a good friend of mine, Peter Chan. We live just about 10 minutes away from each other and he took me to this beautiful ravine near by. It was a lovely walk to see his secret hide out spots. He also took me back to his studio where I got to see some of his recent works for his up coming show.

I’m very excited to announce that I’m going to do studio visits again.  In the next couple weeks I will post some of the photos and a personal interviews with some of my favorite artists in Toronto. It’s still a work in progress but I’m happy to know that my friends would like to their time to share their art and their stories with me.

On a grey rainy day, I will share some colors (perhaps some comets too) with you. The show is coming up in June. More images will be shared leading up to the show, stay tuned!

It will become something.

Here is something that looks more finished than the mini wip snapshots I’ve been posting in past weeks. This one is a rough digital color study (approx 4 hrs) for an upcoming painting for my next show. I sometimes use photoshop as a tool for quick color tests and for testing how elements are placed when I move on to the actual painting. To me, this process is only the beginning of my overall painting process, as the application of oil paint and chroma on the canvas is the main stage.
