Here is something that looks more finished than the mini wip snapshots I’ve been posting in past weeks. This one is a rough digital color study (approx 4 hrs) for an upcoming painting for my next show. I sometimes use photoshop as a tool for quick color tests and for testing how elements are placed when I move on to the actual painting. To me, this process is only the beginning of my overall painting process, as the application of oil paint and chroma on the canvas is the main stage.

Me and a friend were looking through some old sketchbooks, found some pages that I don’t think I ever posted before, dating back to about a few years back I think. Always interesting to look through ideas and thoughts from old sketchbooks.

These are some observational drawings that I do on the subway, sketching almost every Sunday, it is a commitment to draw life.

Here is a recent finished page of observational drawings from the Subway Sketching on Sundays. Its always fun to draw a variety of different people, you can tell it is winter time here in Toronto and its getting pretty cold. Everyone is in their winter gears.
